Denture Applications in Guided Implant Dentistry

Denture products can be used very creatively in traditional implant dentistry. Patients can have their choice of practically any degree of cosmetic result imagineable.

All acrylic and acrylic - porcelain teeth specialty denture products can be fabricated that quite literally look like real teeth. Surface textures of the gingival areas and the individual tooth surfaces are altered to mimic what Mother Nature normally provides.

Dentures don't have to look like dentures.

When combined with the 3 Dimensional diagnostic and treatment planning possibilities made available with advanced Cone Beam imaging, denture products are routinely used in our practice for both temporary solutions and creating surprising long term permanent solutions.

Smart Dentures

The advancements being made in contemporary dentistry occur at a pace that makes dental treatments possible .... that weren't even possible just a few years ago.

Gone are the days when patients were limited to routine extractions and common denture fittings for teeth that couldn't be repaired or replaced due to disease issues or financial reasons.

Specific advances in technologies and Dr. Marinic's investment in those technologies that have had the most impact on increasing choices, from one or two.... to several now enable our patients to custom design a Smart Denture.

Informed Decision for Smart Dentures

Dentures Inexpensive dentures, such as those available through popular Denture Clinics, for many patients, can be a suitable solution for some. Because of the limited availability of advanced diagnostic ability, patients don't really know if denture treatment will be successful until the dentures have been placed.

Jawbone abnormalities, weak jaw bone mass, excessive porosity (more common with older patients), gum tissue issues, unobserved hard and soft tissue loss, tissue sensitivity and complex bite and occlusion problems are common, yet insufficiently diagnosed problems that can be responsible for creating a miserable experience with denture treatment.

Unhappy versus Satisfied

Statistically, only 14-15% of denture wearers report a good experience with denture treatments. The most common problems are issues with loose fit, pain and just not feeling comfortable. Of course, speech and eating difficulties are also quite common.

Fit, pain and overall comfort are features or qualities that can be easily controlled by patients seeking new or replacement dentures. Many patients, unfortunately, don't have the opportunity to learn what the outcome of wearing a denture will be until after treatment is completed.

Dr. Marinic has access to specialized catscan equipment that replaces old fashioned dental xrays.

Patients undergoing treatment for literally any type of tooth replacement procedure are trained to read their own catscans.

Catscan Cone Beam Training Patients see, very clearly, how their jaws and current dentition will respond or change to practically every treatment possibility being considered.

Controlling - Eliminating Denture Surprises

Denture patients see, perhaps for the first time, the condition of all critical bone areas, bone porosity (yes, it can be seen with the naked eye), uneven jawbone, bone loss pockets due to old extractions and current, overall health of oral tissues.

The learning curve is brief and thorough. Selecting the right type of denture treatment, with or without specialized implants are now possible without the common fear of requesting treatment that is not needed or necessary.

Alterations to soft or hard tissues are made, based on what the patient wants in terms of what the perfect denture would be for them. Casual fit, tight fit, average or above average appearance, face lift dentures (face lifts are created through opening the bite), regaining the ability to eat certain types of foods and the ability to define how often the denture needs to be removed.

Patient Defines the Smartest Denture Treatment

Through the magic of 3 Dimensional imaging and Dr. Marinic's ability to teach basic concepts in oral health, tissue physiology and how dental technologies are creatively used to recreate or normalize a certain dental need, our patients are assisted in easily selecting the most sensible treatment based on whatever degree of cosmetic and functional result desired.

The possibilities of having a great looking denture that recreates an attractive smile and feels great exists more today than ever before!

Dr. Marinic will provide you with the objective details and available treatment options you can have and need for making an informed decision about which combinations of advanced tooth replacement technologies would be available for you.
