Minimally Invasive Tooth Extractions IllinoisAcceptable Bone Loss?
It has been all too common for patients to become accepting of extraction related bone loss. The principles of exodontia (removal of teeth) as practiced in this country haven't changed much. The basic procedure involves local anesthesia, severing whatever connective tissue is accessible and the pulling the tooth out with standard extraction pliers. Dr. Marinic long ago adapted a tooth extraction protocol that has been commonly taught in dental schools located in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France, for years. Tooth Removal Does Not Create Bone LossRemoving a tooth does not imply bone tissue will be lost. The loss of bone occurs with the methods used for extracting the teeth. Our extraction methods enables Dr. Marinic to remove almost all difficult, non-impacted teeth within just a matter of minutes, noninvasively. In most situations, the need for creating incisions into gum tissue to expose jawbone (a Perio Flap), trenching and removal of facial cortical bone is eliminated.
Even the most difficult extractions can usually be completed in less than 6 minutes of technique time and with no or very little surrounding tissue trauma. No other method has this distinction. Watch our GRAPHIC Video that shows Dr. Marinic completing an entire lower jaw 8 tooth extraction treatment in less than 5 minutes ... from start to finish. Implications for TreatmentHaving the ability to eliminate additional bone loss has important implications for patients considering implant dentistry for bridgework, fixed bridges or individual tooth replacements. Eliminating jawbone damage during extractions enables the use of Immediate Function implants and/or prevent the need for additional bone grafts.Patients preparing to undergo treatments for gum disease which may require the removal of diseased hard and soft tissues will be assured that additional bone loss doesn't occur due to extraction protocols. Bone graft needs, then, will be limited to bone grafting required to rebuild tissue that was lost to disease. |
